Nature-based solutions and business cases for Water Funds

Anchor has developed business cases for the establishment of Water Funds for Cape Town, Mombasa, Tamale (Ghana) and Freetown (Sierra Leone). These studies involved detailed situation analyses, modelling of hydrological and sediment flows in the landscape, and the design, modelling and cost benefit analysis of nature-based solutions to address threats to water security. The catchment restoration actions laid out for the Greater Cape Town Water Fund are already well under way.
